snow shmow

Many in Utah County today have found a reason to celebrate today. They woke up and saw this and shouted for joy.

But I, Andrea Grace Todd Faulkner Williams refuse to celebrate. This year in my attempt to appreciate the snow I have decided to ski, dress warmly in outdoor gear, and even marry a mountain man. But I refuse to pretend like I enjoy this weather. That is just going too far. For all of you who enjoy this disaster of a day, I congratulate you. I wish you the best of luck this season! If you need to find me in the next few months I will be in my chair sipping herbal tea watching 13 going on 30, and waiting for April before I come out again.

I am tempted to say Baah Humbug! But I won't, because I can understand why you don't like the snow.

Perhaps we snow lovers can show you in time that there is a beauty to sitting your cozy house sipping hot chocolate by the fire while you watch the snow fall outside. Or the thrill of skiing on fresh powder!

Maybe someday..

You see...I never thought that I loved the snow that much until I moved to Richmond. People call "flurries" here a "snow storm." I enjoy the warm weather- but every time they say on the news that it might "snow," I secretly hope that we will have this giant snow storm. Maybe that is because here, a giant snow storm = a huge party where you can use the snow as an excuse for everything. Work...who needs to go to work when there is snow on the roads? Nobody. Please snow...please.

Oh, how much you miss in loving winter! It's a time of renewing and without winter we don't have spring. Just be sure to never move to Alaska since there's plenty there!

Funny post! I actually Prefer warm weather, but enjoy a few snowy days, but a long 6 month winter isn't exactly what I call paradise. BUT we are so happy to be here, and experience the wonderful things that are all around. And skiing is so fun when it is a warm day! I promise in time you will turn to the white side! And have a liking for skiing! I got used to the humidity in houston, and I loved it so I can work with anything.
